    It’s that time of year again to begin thinking about next September and the start of pre-kindergarten.  Children who will turn four on or before December 1, 2017 are eligible to enter school in September 2017.  Please fill out the information below to preregister and send it to the Guidance Office, P.O. Box 230, 4-8 Main Street, Canaseraga, NY  14822.  You will be contacted in the spring regarding scheduled appointment times.  Students will spend approximately 1 1/2-2 hours with members of our screening committee.  Students are screened for speech, language, motor and cognitive development and health.  Parents will complete necessary paperwork and meet with our school nurse, our speech therapist and pre-k teacher through out the screening process.

  • Congratulations to the Canaseraga Academic All-Star Team for ending their season as the 2017 Small School Division Champs.  The team worked hard this year and placed first among the other small schools in our region (Arkport, Bradford, & Prattsburgh).

  • Merger Letter to District Residents

    The letter posted below will be placed in the mail and sent to our school district residents on Friday, March 31.  The letter is meant to provide a perspective on the Future of CCS, explain some of the details related to the merger discussions we have been having, and to update residents on the next steps. 

    There is also document meant to provide a picture representation of the potential options for the future of CCS.

    Merger Discussions with Arkport

    • Survey

    Following their meetings on February 16, 2017, the Canaseraga and Arkport school boards have initiated discussions about potentially merging the school districts. The school boards will be meeting together on Thursday, March 9, 7:30pm, in the Canaseraga Small Gym. Community members from both districts are encouraged to attend. In preparation for this meeting, the districts are requesting feedback using the following survey link:

    • Future of CCS

    This picture attempts to represent the options that exist for the Canaseraga Central School. A question was asked at the 02/16/17 board meeting about the potential options that exist. While this is a VERY simplistic representation of the options before us, it does give a look at the options. There are also many nuances related to each option that cannot be represented in a simple picture.

  • NEW New York State Immunization Requirement
    As of September 2016, all entering 7th and 12th grade students will be required to have a first dose of the meningococcal vaccine to be able to start school.  The flyer is located here:
