Notification to Parents of Special Education Rights Upon Enrollment
According New York State Education Law 4402, school districts are required to notify every parent of their rights regarding referral and evaluation of their child for the purposes of special education services and programs. These rights are described in the Parent’s Guide to Special Education in New York State (for children ages 3-21), which may be accessed online at: https://www.nysed.gov/sites/default/files/programs/special-education/a-parents-guide-to-special-education.pdf
