The Canaseraga Central School District has been notified that P-EBT has been extended for our students during the 2020-21 school year. P-EBT provides benefits to help families buy food during the COVID pandemic. It is our understanding that our students will qualify based upon our school district’s status as a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school district. Some of the literature talks about funding for remote learning students. We have been told our students will qualify based upon being a CEP school, even though we are doing 100% in-person instruction.
We are waiting for additional information, including details about which students will be eligible, and how and when families will receive benefits. There are two things you can do while awaiting further details to avoid an unnecessary delays:
- Keep your P-EBT card if you previously received one. If you have discarded it already, that won’t disqualify you from any benefits provided to our students.
- Most importantly – be sure your mailing address is up-to-date with the school.
