Greetings CCS School Community,
On behalf of the Board, I am pleased to share that Mrs. Josie Steiner has been approved to be the next superintendent of schools for the Canaseraga Central School District. Mrs. Steiner is currently serving the Arkport CSD as their curriculum coordinator. She previously served in other leadership positions with the Wayland-Cohocton CSD and GST BOCES.
Mrs. Steiner has been appointed as the Executive Superintendent for the months of November and December. She will be working alongside me as we work towards her officially stepping into the Superintendent of Schools role on January 1, 2026, following my retirement on December 31, 2025.
We will coordinate with the Board a community evening to provide the opportunity to meet and greet Mrs. Steiner. When we have these details, we will be sharing those with the school community via ParentSquare, Facebook, and our school website.
I would also like to take the time to thank our students, staff, school board, and the school community for an amazing 10+ years serving as your superintendent. It has truly been an honor to serve this district!!

The NYS Department of Health requires school districts to test lead levels in water available in school buildings. Our district was required to complete this process by the end of December 2025. We conducted our sample draws on October 8, 2025, and have been provided the lab analysis from the samples. A parent & staff letter is attached to this communication for your review. This letter will be mailed out on Monday, Nov 10 to each family unit.

NYS Mandates Bell to Bell Ban on Internet-enabled Devices for students
The district policy will be presented to the school board for their review and approval. The first reading is scheduled for August 7, and the second reading is slated for August 21.
Internet-enabled Device Policy
Dignity for All Students Act: If you wish to report an incident or a series of incidents of harassment, please complete the DASA Form. Otherwise, you may report this to the Dignity Act coordinator, Mr. Dan Bishop, as soon as possible so the district can investigate and take the appropriate steps to resolve the incident.
